Scenic 2
Another scenic picture, taken at approximately 12:02. In the bottom of the picture there is dry Pine Goldenbush, a native Southern Californian shrub that is very tall. The weather at this time was slightly windy.
Whipple Yucca
Laurel Sumac
This is a Laurel Sumac plant which is also known as the "Taco Plant" due to its somewhat folded leaves that resemble a taco. The leaves and stems of this plant are very fragrant. It blooms from June to July.
Growing Whipple Yucca
This is a Whipple Yucca plant in the early stages of growth. In 9 years or less, this plant will shoot up a stalk that can grow up to a foot a day. It will most likely stop growing its stalk when it reaches 10 feet.
Mountain Scenery
This picture contains many plants. At this time, 11:45 AM, there was a slight breeze felt when sitting in the shade. There is Laurel Sumac in this picture and a hill in the back with many bushes and trees on it.

Site Description
Site Description
Location: Across river bed, on the opposite side from the parking lot and nature center
Habitat Type: Desert
Dimensions: 13 paces x 6 paces
The ground and its soil in this area is dry and rocky. This area is in the sun so it is hot and dry as well. Some plants have spiky leaves and look dried up because of their color. There are small trees in the area that have clumps of seed blossoms. There is a lot of animal activity too. Many birds, bees, and lizards inhabit the area. The birds eat the seeds out of the blossoms on the small trees. There also are dragonflies which suggests there is water nearby. The birds are constantly calling to each other and have gray feathers that can be found on the ground near the trees they eat the seeds off of.
