Location: Across river bed, on the opposite side from the parking lot and nature center
Habitat Type: Desert
Dimensions: 13 paces x 6 paces

     The ground and its soil in this area is dry and rocky. This area is in the sun so it is hot and dry as well. Some plants have spiky leaves and look dried up because of their color. There are small trees in the area that have clumps of seed blossoms. There is a lot of animal activity too. Many birds, bees, and lizards inhabit the area. The birds eat the seeds out of the blossoms on the small trees. There also are dragonflies which suggests there is water nearby. The birds are constantly calling to each other and have gray feathers that can be found on the ground near the trees they eat the seeds off of.

Temperature: hot, sunny, slight breeze
 Observations:
-lots of bushes in the area that are brown in color
-a few yucca plants, they have very sharp leaves
-dry soil
-little trees in this particular area
-dragonflies

-bees taking pollen and nectar from plants
-ants moving around on the dirt and rocks, they seem to be in search of food
- birds eating seeds off of the blossoms on one type of tree

-lizard is moving around in a nearby bush
-dragonfly just flew overhead
